Steve Carter on the terrace of Cafe Clock

Have you ever reflected on your life and come to the conclusion that you aren’t living the life you are supposed to be living? Well, Steve Carter thinks there are plenty of people who have this revelation and he sees Fes as a magnet for those who want to change course and align themselves with the life they truly want to live.

Steve and is on a ‘story-collecting’ mission for an upcoming book on this very subject. And Café Clock’s own Mike Richardson was just one of the individuals he wanted to interview during this research phase of his writing. Steve heard about Café Clock and Mike through a mutual friend and author, Tahir Shah. Steve knew straight away that Mike’s story was exactly the kind of example he was looking for … the story of someone moving from one life to another ‘parallel life’. A life with more fulfillment, freedom and alignment.

Look around the community of Fes and you’ll find dozens and dozens of similar examples. Fes is filled with creative, spirited and talented people reinventing their lives and manifesting their dreams.

Reading this is amazing on so many levels. Our masria has just been finished and our first tenants are about to leave and I am coming to Fes from the 23 – 27 June to see our finished home for the first time since buying what was close to a wreck. My partner and I debate often the wisdom of having bought this home but reading about Parallel Lives something is starting to sense. Maybe there is a wisdom that I am following that I’m not fully aware of. Now that my kids have left home, I’m on a journey of discovering a life that fulfills me, nurtures me and feeds my creative spirit. I’m a writer and facilitator of women’s empowerment groups and I am searching to live amongst other like minded people who are creative, thinking, caring people. I can’t wait to see Fes again and my Fes home. I will certainly be visiting cafe Clock. Rosjke

Wow – 5 years ago I used to dream of living in Morocco even though I had never even visted the country. Three years ago we came for a visit and fell in love with the people, the place and a house! Today I’m hoping desperatley that the volcanic ash doesn’t interfere with the 2 week stay we have planned for May. I can’t wait to introduce our 2 year old daughter to our ‘other’ life, I’m sure she is going to love it and it will be a welcome break for all of us from London.
